Our client is a globally recognized clinical research and consulting organization supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across the full drug development lifecycle.

The Role

As part of continued growth within their HEOR and real-world evidence capabilities, they are now looking to appoint a Lead Statistician to provide methodological leadership across a range of health economics and outcomes research projects.

Their teams work on complex evidence generation programs that combine clinical research, real-world evidence, and health economics to support regulatory and payer decision-making worldwide. With a strong reputation for scientific rigor and methodological innovation, the organization collaborates with many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies to generate high-quality evidence that informs treatment access and healthcare policy.

 

Locations

This is a full-time, remote (home-based) position that can be based in most EU countries, including the UK.

Responsibilities

The Lead Statistician HEOR will bring expertise in a broad range of statistical methodologies and their application across different study designs and data sources, providing leadership in the delivery of statistical analyses for health economics and outcomes research projects.

  • Providing methodological leadership and oversight for statistical analyses across HEOR projects.

  • Leading analytical support for economic models, meta-analysis, network meta-analysis, mixed treatment comparisons, trial simulations, and exploratory analyses of clinical and real-world data.

  • Contributing to the preparation of study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and technical reports.

  • Conducting or overseeing statistical analyses and ensuring the robustness and integrity of study outputs.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across epidemiology, health economics, and outcomes research.

  • Participating in client meetings and leading discussions around statistical methodology and interpretation of results.

  • Supporting proposal development and providing statistical expertise during bidding processes.

  • Overseeing and mentoring other statisticians, contributing to recruitment activities and resource planning across projects.

  • Leading methodological initiatives from concept through to publication and broader scientific dissemination.

Requirements 

To be successful in this role, candidates will typically bring a strong background in statistical methodology within a health economics, outcomes research, or epidemiology consulting environment.

Key requirements include:

  • PhD or MSc in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • Approximately 5+ years of experience within HEOR, real-world evidence, or epidemiology consulting.

  • Demonstrated experience leading statistical components of projects within a consulting or CRO environment.

  • Strong experience with evidence synthesis methodologies such as meta-analysis and network meta-analysis.

  • Experience contributing to statistical analysis plans, study protocols, and technical reports.

  • Previous client-facing experience and the ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly.

  • Experience with statistical programming tools such as R or SAS.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience supporting HTA submissions or payer evidence generation is advantageous.
